THE ALL-NEW CONTEST 63CS
SMART SAILING MADE SIMPLE
After a summer rolling out the tease that a new model is on its way, we’re delighted the time’s come to reveal the yacht everyone will want! Big, beautiful and so easily self-managed, the new must-have is the 19-metre luxury performance cruising Contest 63CS.
Designed by judel/vrolijk & co for hassle-free high performance in the lightest to heaviest of weathers, the Contest 63CS is the most elegant and practical new 'super' yacht, offering exceptional choice in cabin arrangements to suit individual preferences in accommodation onboard. There's choice in the rig and sail plan, too.
As we make this announcement three are already in build, sold off-plan, with the first set to launch in spring 2024. And there’s no doubting, this new Contest 63CS is a certain head turner! Sailing into the bay, drop-dead gorgeous, this’ll be the yacht everyone lusts for. The graceful, well-set, balanced lines of top pedigree naval architects judel/vrolijk & co draw the eye; then once inside there's the interior styling by Wetzels Brown Partners; and throughout the Contest guarantee of the highest standards in composite construction and contemporary outfitting. And, of great significance, full Lloyd’s Register inspection and certification.
And what this new inner volume allows in the offered three and four double suite plans is exceptional. In description it begins with owner’s suite aft, two more midships forward of the mast, and another optional further forward – plus a second three-cabin version with crew cabin in the bow.
RARE TREAT Already very interesting but consider this, and It’s no exaggeration, the Contest 63CS is the only yacht this length in the luxury performance sector with a design permitting two forward mirrored identical double guest suites with own wc and shower stall. This is not just a show of great geometry, it’s a true rare treat, the owner now free to offer guests aboard equal luxury in their suites, so no-one ends with second best. Everyone’s a VIP! For younger families, of course, guest cabins can be bunked, too.
A huge stowage locker and workshop sits forward in the three-cabin versions, reducing but remaining still very significant when the crew cabin option is introduced, and again still impressive in the four double guest cabin plan. The considerations are complex. Stowage is always held high on Contest’s list of priorities because well kept, dedicated storage is about more than tidiness, it’s about security and safety. The same principles apply in yacht operation and, ever evolving at Contest, have informed the simple but sophisticated short-handed sailing systems which here include the choice of in-boom or in-mast reefing. In-boom for more performance sail shape, from full sail to reefed. In-mast for even more simply managed speedy reefing. And in both options all lines, now including halyards, are led aft for complete pedestal and cockpit control. For further ease there is also the option of self-tacking jib. To further match individual sailing style and intentions, there is the prime choice of carbon or aluminium spars with, up front, Code 0 or Helix furling incorporated within the integral bowsprit, a removable inner forestay and, depending on spec, twin underdeck-furling headsails.
And of course, right the way through the weather spectrum, that’s light airs as well as heavy, it’s high performance at every level with consistent good speeds, comfortable angles of heel and low sound levels inside and out. All due to our expert ways in design and construction, including light, strong and stiff composite structures all single-shot vacuum infused, and our half-century long close collaboration with Lloyd’s Register. A combination unique in our semi-custom sector. SWEET SPOT With all these wide-ranging options, and this being the first yacht in sector of this length to feature identical VIP guest cabins forward, this is the new sweet spot. A newly opened decision point for owners wanting optimum interior volume and cabin plan in a yacht that can still be handled without needing to have paid crew aboard. Unless of course that’s wanted, too! With interior volume as never before, this is big boat sailing made easy, beautifully.
THE ALL-NEW 63CS THE RIGHT DECISION.
