55CS
Whether viewing from dock, deck, below or away out on the water, it’s instantly clear how and why the Contest 55CS won the luxury category in the 2021 European Yacht of the Year awards. This is a beautiful yacht, beautifully made.
A WINNER THROUGHOUT It’s the subtlety of her appearance that sets her apart. A fine, elegant, marvellously clean design approach throughout, says one of the award jurors. Immersive and uncompromising luxury, the Contest 55CS takes care of her guests with impeccable construction and comfort of the highest level, says another. This is how the 17-metre Contest 55CS provides for ever more enjoyable time aboard. Clearly a safe, comfortable, speedy and easily run yacht with space and systems both above and below decks to enjoy life on the water to the full. And just as the Contest 55CS is capable of short-handing through the roughest, toughest blue waters, the yacht is set with a tall rig equally proficient in the lightest of Mediterranean winds. This really is all-weather yachting, crowned by the soft, quiet, reassuring passage through the water, for which Contest yachts are so well known.
VERSATILE AND PERSONAL Available in a variety of three-cabin arrangements to sleep up to 6+2 including the saloon, there is a choice of forward facing or centreline double bed in the forecabin, with behind on starboard a cabin with either bunks, three-quarter double or even workshop or study conversion. Moving aft, the super-size saloon has rise+fall table, convertible chaise longue, and beautifully styled new stowage and sophisticated LED lighting systems. The navigation area is a delight, so too the finely fitted corridor galley which leads on into the aft stateroom with its clever ‘secret’ third window set in the transom. From the commanding dual helm stations with centreline winch and twin pedestals for all sail controls and deck navigation, the eyeline to rig and bow is clear. And the separated dual cockpit arrangement makes for the safest lounging and lazing for guests while the skipper can sail along single-handed or with assisting crew close around.
