50CS
The new Contest 50CS replaces one of our most successful ever models. With 50-feet always a sweet spot for Contest, this 15.5-metre new arrival secures the sector again. Further advancing the centre cockpit concept, in combination judel/vrolijk & co and Wetzels Brown have created in the 50CS a brilliant modernity yet timeless appeal.
SPACE AND LIGHT At Contest the aesthetic is logical, luxurious and long lasting. Sleeping 6+2 in three cabins plus saloon, the Contest 50CS accommodation plan reveals a remarkably bigger interior in every area. The enlarged aft master suite now has an even more spacious bathroom, with separate shower and heads. The twin-sided corridor galley has more height, breadth, increased workspace and stowage, and more natural light, as does the saloon and navigation area too. Forward of the mast the same opening of space and increase in light apply to starboard bunked cabin, portside heads with separate shower stall, and the remarkably tall and wide, airy guest suite with big island bed set above a generous floor plan. This is a big 50-footer. The detailing is also from the world of bigger yachts from the mood-setting lighting systems to newly formed proud cabinetry and the option for ribbed timber panelling.
CLEAR THINKING Notably for this new model there is also a clever optional transom window in the aft cabin which, externally, appears set into the grand central bathing stairway which reveals as the beach platform folds out and down to the water. So, true to say, the new Contest 50CS resets the yard’s own gold standard at this length. The advanced hull-form achieving so well the three most key modern targets: performance up and down wind, stability for low angles of heel, and huge accommodation. Also, good sustainable credentials with the option of integrated photovoltaic panels and a range of alternative synthetic teak-style decking.
