SAILING'S SO SOCIAL!

Social media is a great way for our owners and adventurers to stay in touch and even enthuse others to take up the explorer’s life! In the last edition of Context we carried the story of Jesse and Jan aboard Contest 48CS Adhara, borrowing heavily from their blog. We talked also of Martijn Obers and friends of Contest 57CS Ocean Pearl which is currently on the way back to the Med from the Caribbean and still posting updates. There’s Mazu, too, another Contest 57CS, on similar track, and there are more and more! Here below are those we know, and we’d love to hear from others too posting on social media. So do let us know! @sharkystales // Contest 38 Ketch @lowlandersailingyacht_ontour // Contest 42S @sv_high_flight // Contest 38S Ketch @mazu_sailing // Contest 57CS @sailingadhara // Contest 48CS @sailingoceanpearl // Contest 57CS @anna.maria.sailing // Contest 55CS @sailing_meerlust50 // Contest 50CS @vincosailing // Contest 50CS @contest25_empress // Contest 25

TEMPUS FUGIT

Time flies, well it does if you’re using a time lapse camera as we have been through the build of the all-new 19-metre Contest 63CS, which demonstrates well how our Lloyd’s Register-certified building method leads to hulls so structurally stiff that in first-phase outfitting we leave the deck off so that entire cabin sections can be built off-boat then craned into position, optimising space, with eased accuracy. Here we see the latest Contest 63CS receiving a midship module with its central companionway, plus galley and aft cabin entry to left, and owner’s ensuite to right. EXCLUSIVE NEW UK PARTNERSHIP

As a part of our continuing expansion plans in key markets, we are delighted to announce our new partnership with the Ancasta Group to form Contest Yachts UK. In this strategic initiative to strengthen our sales network and presence in the UK, the dedicated Contest Yachts UK team will be able to draw upon Ancasta’s considerable yacht sales and service expertise to introduce new owners to our high-quality Dutch approach to performance bluewater cruising, as well as offer an unparalleled level of service and support to our owners. Contest CEO Arjen Conijn says, “As one of the largest yachts sales companies in the UK, and with over 35 years’ experience, Ancasta is the ideal partner for Contest Yachts in the UK as we endeavour to amplify our reach around the world.”

Adding to this, Ancasta Group’s MD Nick Griffith, comments, “With its 60-plus year history of incredible craft, from its Olympic class Flying Dutchman dinghy in the early days to the remarkable performance bluewater cruising yachts of today, we are delighted that Contest Yachts has entrusted us to represent it in such a significant market for the brand.

“Our very strong, and well supported, Contest Yachts UK team will ensure the best possible presentation of the brand and its stunning range of yachts in the UK.”

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE YOURS?

The latest launched 23-metre Contest 72CS is a beautiful case study once again of building dreams together with an interesting range of customisations. Back in March we posted pictures of Duende emerging from our paint shop revealing the special custom paint job matching the owner’s much loved BMW motorcar. And here we can now reveal an amazing teak and oak interior, in a highly personalised cabin arrangement, introducing a TV lounge forward in place of second guest suite, and all the space forward of that given over to skipper and crew with own private lounge as well as bunked cabin and ensuite. The sofas in both forward lounges can also be converted to extra beds if ever required.

Styled and developed by our interior design colleagues Wetzels Brown Partners, the theme is neutrals with highlights in a wonderful range of patterns and finishes, a main saloon table that sets at different levels for lounge, dinner and also as bed, and the uber-extensive, especially selected accessories coming aboard span everything from lights and tableware to throws and bed linen labelled with individual cabin names. No wonder we call it building dreams together!
