2026 OPEN HOUSE - BLUEWATER DAY
WHAT A GREAT DAY!
Our annual spring event, the ‘Open House – Bluewater Day 2026’, held over the Easter weekend, once again proved a resounding success, welcoming more than 500 visitors. And partnering with the World Cruising Club, owner and organiser of the increasingly varied range of ARC rallies, this season-opening special event was dedicated not just to the beauty and benefits of the best in semi-custom yacht building but the true wonders of bluewater cruising and adventuring.

Bringing together enthusiasts from the Contest-owning family and wider yachting community also, the event offered a unique behind-the-scenes experience of the craftsmanship and innovation that define the Contest Yachts brand, and the chance to explore an extraordinary range of distant cruising possibilities. It was also a truly international event with attendees from more than a dozen nationalities together highlighting the growing international interest in our yachts and extended bluewater adventuring.
In addition to the tours of yachts both in construction and completed, the World Cruising Club hosted a wide-ranging series of seminars, offering valuable insights into longer voyaging and shared ocean sailing events, ranging through selecting and outfitting the right yacht, essential preparation strategies, and the individual skills required for safe and successful long-distance cruising.
Throughout the day the shipyard’s premier suppliers were also present making for good discussion and exploration of the latest advancements in marine equipment and services.
A great day out .. and the date for next year is Saturday 3 April 2027!
