IMPRESSIONS
The interior plan is based around three double suites, with a fourth bunked cabin, in a variety of configurations and a choice of two galley arrangements, u-shaped or corridor.
Among the differences with the latter, an already very sizeable master suite aft is further enlarged with even more space given to bathroom and wardrobes. There is a dedicated, standing-height technical room with additional further technical as well as mechanical space below the saloon's central floor. With noise and vibration experts Van Cappellen deeply involved in the design engineering, the quietness in the accommodation is simply exceptional. Interior design is by Wetzels Brown Partners and open to extensive owner personalisation.
SPECIFICATION IS PERSONAL
With Contest it's as easy to choose how you want your yacht fitted as it is filling the herb rack with the right flavours to spice up life!
Throughout, the sense of openness is instant. Yet equally evident is Contest's hallmark sea safety with the many handrails plus clever hand-holding lips to cabinetry, all ergonomic in use. The joinery and its finish is to the yard's always exceptionally high standards, as are the soft furnishings and architectural hardware, with all this, of course, adjusted to individual owners' tastes and needs. And, again, underwriting that, there are many varied cabin plan options for the personal best match. That's the Contest way. The industry catchphrases this as semi-custom construction. It's all part of building dreams together … and every sailor has a different dream.
RELIABILITY IS IN-BUILT ... SO TOO IS YOUR SECURITY
On deck you’ll see the craftsmanship in the sculptural shaping and polished welds of the sturdy stainless steel railings. You’ll enjoy the beautiful shaping of the composite mouldings perhaps unaware of the complexity in creating such contours. Below in the well thought layout it’s everywhere you turn, in the seamless grain-matched joinery, the hand stitching of turned corners for the settee cushions.
And then there's what is actually in and under those cushions to maximise comfort and durability. Less glamorous, but no less important in this practice, are the boat’s hidden systems, the electrics and electronics, pumps, engine, generator, complex hydraulics. All installed with pre-planned care, minimising noise and vibration, all clearly routed, labelled, sited for optimised access.
Conforming with strict international classification standards, equipment is invariably highly specified. The list runs on and on. Ampage sufficient to run all apparatus simultaneously. Fuel and water tankage to support distant voyaging. So, with Contest Yachts it’s not just what you see that counts. What you don’t see is equally significant. We go the extra mile to make sure you can, too.
The aesthetic is for you to choose
Pictured here is the aft cabin in a very specifically styled Contest 67CS following the theme of a jazz based passion. Rich dark leathers and brass detailing add to the smart, continuously formed teak joinery as seen in the hand crafted wrapround frame of the seemingly floating large double berth, which in turn conceals clever lee cloth arrangements for secure sleeping on passage.
